In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, hybrid work arrangements have surged dramatically, with estimates suggesting that up to 40–50% of the workforce has shifted to a hybrid model. This paradigm shift has spurred the demand for workspaces that seamlessly blend the privacy of individual offices with the collaborative spirit of open environments, creating the need for innovative solutions that can adapt to diverse work styles and spaces.

Drawing inspiration from the multi-helix folding principles of origami and the precise movement of iris mechanisms, the IRIS-BLOOM reimagines the traditional partition into an interactive, kinetic divider. As a user approaches, the modular panels gracefully retract—much like blooming petals—transforming the space into a versatile environment that caters to both concentrated work and spontaneous collaboration. This design approach is rooted in the concept of merging art with technology, as reflected in the project's exploration of folding patterns and mechanical movement
.

By integrating ambient LED lighting with its kinetic structure, IRISBLOOM partition not only enhances spatial functionality but also elevates the overall work atmosphere. The design fosters a fluid transition between secluded work areas and open communication zones, enabling a dynamic workspace that evolves with its users.  This innovative solution stands as a testament to the future of hybrid work environments—one that harmoniously blends individual focus with collective engagement.
